Through her brand, The Lazy Makoti, Mogau shares her passion for food and people through her
live, interactive cooking lessons, as well as her extensive social-media following. She is the author of
the bestselling cookbooks, The Lazy Makoti’s Guide to the Kitchen (Quivertree, 2018) and Hosting
With the Lazy Makoti (Jonathan Ball Publishers, 2021). She has featured on the Forbes Africa ‘30
under 30’ list and the Mail and Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans list.
J’SOMETHING, or Joao Da Fonseca, is best known as the lead singer of the award-winning South
African house band Mi Casa. Apart from his contributions to the music industry, J’Something is
passionate about food and cooking. He is the author of Something’s Cooking (Quivertree, 2016), as
well as a restauranteur. His first restaurant, Something’s Cooking By J, in Pretoria has since made way
for the launch of his newest restaurant, Artistry, in Johannesburg. He hosted the TV show What’s for
Dinner and is a judge on My Kitchen Rules South Africa.
